GA-PCOM Class of 2020 Celebrates PA Week

Meet the PA Class of 2020 GA PCOM

We had a busy and fun-filled PA week here at Georgia PCOM!

  • History and Physical written Exam
  • We shared a class video introducing our students to the campus on the school’s social media accounts (@ga_pcom on Instagram)

  • Greek yogurt parfait bar and coffee before a busy day of classes
  • A group of applicants interviewed and our student ambassadors led a campus tour and Q&A
  • Day 1 of a 2-day @ga_pcom Instagram takeover highlighting a typical day for us as PA students

  • H&P Practical Exam on Heart, Lungs, and Abdomen
  • Campus bake sale to share information with our peers about PAs and raise money for the PA Foundation. We sold everything and raised $170 from our home-baked goods!
  • Day 2 of our school’s Instagram takeover, highlighting the activities of our day

  • Lighter day of classes followed by lots of studying
  • A group of applicants interviewed and our student ambassadors led a campus tour and Q&A

  • Pharmacology exam over antibiotics!
  • Catered Chipotle lunch to celebrate the end of a challenging and successful PA week
  • Class photo in our newly made class T-shirts that we sold as a fundraiser for our PA student society
  • A couple of students participated in a de-stress wreath-making class led by our school’s counselor
  • Interprofessional Education- a monthly course where we work in small groups of DO, PA, PT, and Pharmacy students to discuss our collaborative roles on the healthcare team. We worked through case scenarios of difficult medical situations that required excellent communication, creative thinking, and patient centered team care. It was a great opportunity to wrap up PA week by reiterating to our peers the role of a PA and what PA-S life is like as demonstrated throughout our heavy social media and campus presence this week!

Happy PA Week to all! We are all so excited to be a part of this profession!
